perhaps the wildest Dumbing of Age thing of the past few days has been the little mini-arc in the comments on whether it's real-world immoral to cheer for fictional infidelity

Someone needs to work on the “Good Place” style point adjustment for “supported fictional infidelity”. Is it up there with harboring perverse sexual lust for a character? Who are we to judge.
I recall being 18ish and frankly morality didn’t usually enter the room with consenting adults. By which I mean the name of the comic is the name of the comic.
I doubt the sincerity of anyone claiming it's "real-world immoral to cheer for fictional infidelity".
Perhaps that's unfair, but it sounds like the sort of thing in which someone doesn't like something, and they make it a moral issue so they have the "correct" subjective opinion.
Yeah I've been noticing this increasing over the past few years. They dont like something and want the moral superiority despite it being fiction and often don't reflect on it
I should note that I don't imagine they do this consciously. I've grasped at "I have the high ground" straws without thinking about it before, only realizing what I was doing on later reflection.

Lots of people mistake "I personally don't like this" for "there is something wrong with this and anyone who makes/likes it is a terrible person."
Example: I can acknowledge Jonathan Majors as an incredible actor while also knowing he's an asshole and be glad no one is hiring him.
(And it took until today's comic for me to go, "Oh! Dorothy's trauma bonded!" 🤦)
