As someone who worked in the Mental Health field for over 30 years, I agree. Occasionally, there would be a staff member whose heart just wasn't in it. They didn't last. The work is stressful, and having internal motivation is a must.
This. Birth control has been fully legal for long enough that any practicing pharmacist was trained while it was legal and knew it would be part of their job to dispense it. They shouldn't have gone into a job if they knew they couldn't meet the requirements of that job.
I'm not a doc but a MRI tech, and idk...as long as there's a colleague that can do the scan for me I don't really want to scan Nazis. If I'm alone I have no choice but as long as someone else can take the patient I'd avoid Nazi patients.
They do not. They're all just patients, ppl who need help & medical care. Their religion, color, gender, past history, country of origin is irrelevant. Help them, treat them & protect their right to privacy. If you can't do that you're in the wrong profession. If you want to hurt ppl go be a cop.
My grandfather was a small town doctor during the Depression. From what I've heard, he never withheld treatment from someone even if they couldn't pay. Once people broke into his house and stole his canned goods. He didn't prosecute because he knew they needed the food.
Add the docs who refuse to provide treatments because they require active monitoring. Rx plans are developed to maximize profit regardless of efficacy. Worse, SSRIs are shoveled like candy without a clue whether or not they help. The consequences: teen suicides ☝️; mass shootings ☝️; domestic abuse ☝️
Seriously! Back in my Navy days, I had to do daily dressing changes on the pilonidal cyst of the bitch who stole my CD’s ( I had pressed charges w/NIS).
my new provider was shocked at the multiple actions and malpractice of my former provider-was it based on my faith? i don't know but i know the doctor before the last one has lost his license and the one I just discontinued will be losing hers too. They are not Gods.
Guilty.
Never been able to nor will I get to the point of accepting a client who is 'allegedly' a child abuser in order for a court decision to go 'his'(normally) way because of a requirement to receive treatment for being an abuser of children (unable to give consent to what is being done to them)
I think in that situation, the therapists should be in the position to give evidence that you do not think the underlying issues have been solved by your treatment. "The patient isn't responding to my treatment" is a very different thing from, "I don't treat X group."
Unfortunately the ONLY thing the courts need is proof that the the perpetrator is seeking therapy in order to exonerate them. Nope sorry. Will not do it.
That's fair, and I think it's a different thing from seeking birth control or halal meat. Someone who has already perpetrated harm is not in this category.
I supervised mental health services for about 30 years. I will not begin to tell you what I'd have done if one of my staff had tried to pull this shit. It would not have been pretty.

AND I WAS F’ING GENTLE AND KIND AS COULD BE.
What if they all rebelled at once? Can they lock them all up?

There should be a screening process for bigots and religious fanatics. we need to weed them out and never let them hold a position of power – ever.
😉👍
Help the sick, whomever they are
