anyway @ nobody in particular but "your criticism of the setting of this card game set is too surface level, it's like you only looked at the cards in this card game" is such a silly thing to say

in a really mindboggling turn of events, a substantial part of what makes a setting in a card game good or not is how that setting is portrayed on the cards you play said card game with. some people are mad about this for some reason.
I did not like duskmourn. the setting felt strange and out of place and didn't appeal to me. I have not read the story, because the setting as shown on the cards did not make me want to.
I don't think that's a particularly unreasonable position given that this is, again, a card game.
Duskmourne was shoehorned full of b movie horror garbage. If the story doubled down on the nature of the house and Valgavoth's influence on things instead of whatever the fuck we got...yeah
