With respect, I think this is wrong. Biggest problem with Rubio relationship with our allies is not his abilities as a diplomat. It’s that his boss doesn’t view them as allies anymore. And he views our enemies as friends.

A US diplomat who can't reassure our ALLIES that we are on their side is bad at diplomacy. Whether he's incompetent or just afraid to put the US interests ahead of Trump's is moot. The Secretary of State is a job that demands more talent than he possesses. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/u...

Orwell is a training manual for these people. It's not power as a means to an end, it's the pursuit of power for it's own sake.
I've noticed quite a few foreign policy experts and such who just can't believe that Trumpism represents an ideological change in US *interests and goals*, not merely strategy. I feel for them, but they need to wake up.
Yes Trump sees our allies as adversaries, which makes positive relationships impossible
But Rubio is ALSO "incompetent", "afraid to put the US interests ahead of Trump's", and is clearly in a "job that demands more talent* than he possesses"
* & character, which he also lacks
Perhaps his wife packed him an extra pair to go with his Dad's suit.
