But there WAS no mishap! The prime minister's office confirmed the original account that a commander gave to a reporter, and a bunch of people just decided to treat that like "Well that's HIS word, he WOULD say that wouldn't he. I'm gonna need to personally see the bodies to know for sure."

But he was only repeating what a commander and a general had already said, that there were babies among the victims, and some victims had their heads cut off. If it turns out that all the decapitated people were adults, and the babies were only stabbed....okay.

Chances are that since the siege started, one young Palestinian kid will have been beheaded by shrapnel or pressure wave, but it wouldn't mean that idf soldiers were recreating IS beheadings. Being careful about specifics is important because conflicts encourage horror and loss of clarity, honesty.

The way it's being so tentatively handled makes me wonder if Bibi isn't pushing it for outrage gains without or against the specific facts. People have always been capable of this. If it's true, it should be confirmed rather than used to divide people between alignment and opposition around faith.

Could it be possible that it happened? Seems entirely plausible. Hamas pursue horror at all costs.

Could misinfo be being pushed to justify questionable decisions? Also possible.

Is there anything wrong about trying to be careful and true to reality? Maybe, but I think pros outweigh cons.

But it's actually creating disinformation because now the pro-Hamas left believe no babies were killed at all. Babies WERE killed, and heads WERE cut off. The general was an eyewitness and said that is what he himself saw.
