Fortunately most competent pediatricians will keep their patients on the vaccine schedule.
Unfortunately insurance companies will take the opportunity to refuse coverage for "unnecessary vaccinations" leaving parents to foot the bill
Do you know where I find the after 6 chart? Mine have all had according to schedule and we will be sticking to it. I think we are close to done though.
My daughter too. We shared our concern with our pediatrician and he said they will work through the night, vaccinating every child they possibly can, if any restrictions are placed on childhood vaccines. I live in one of the bluest places in this country. I worry for all the children who don't.
in case no one has said this to you, it’s okay to be concerned. Your worries are legitimate. I say this not to scare you, but to validate what you are feeling.
I don't even have kids & I'm terrified a lot of poor & middle class children's vaccinations won't happen, because medicaid or their parents' insurance won't cover them, because they're not on the schedule.
I completely understand. I wonder if this will become a situation where one can ask for the vaccine but will have to pay out of pocket (assuming the schedule changes, which it likely will). This is why I'm saving it - so I can always have it for future reference.
I think the insurance cos will do what will end up benefiting their bottom line so vaccines at appropriate times regardless of gov changes to timelines will still be covered. Actuarial stats are all they will care about.
Insurance companies regularly take short-sighted views of things that clearly run contrary to their financial interests. No idea what they think of vaccines in particular though.
Terrifying was the correct wording. Those of us old enough to remember aunts, uncles, cousins and such that died at 6 or 7 before advent of vaccines. This is so moronic. It also puts our entire health system at risk. Can you imagine going to doctor and worrying he contacted measles?
