This is why I'm so excited about AI. Nobody has to be good or bad at anything anymore. No more criticism for sucking at stuff (bad) or being good at stuff (a form of bragging, also bad). Outsource all competence to machines and subsist entirely on branded media and brandless food paste hose.

The real ruling class in the US is people with billions of dollars. And you have this tier of elected officials who make mid-level manager salaries, who are easy to buy. They want in to that world, and have something tangible to trade.
When excelling at your job only gives you more responsibilities with no increase in pay, every competent person will refuse to put in full effort at work.
it's like americans are so deathly afraid of being wrong or looking bad that they'd rather only elect and reward mid assholes bc at least those guys are not threatening anyone's intelligence
