Yes, the most important conflict right now is narrative.

How public opinion is formed over the next 6 months will be a determining factor for how things ultimately resolve once some critical turning point happens (Trump failure to obey a court order; invasion of Greenland; shooting protestors).

Former Illinois republican senator Mark Kirk credited his stroke with changing his heart on same-sex marriage. It seems Fetterman's stroke made him a worse person rather than a better one.
