This is politicians must be held to account by law as the media won't, they'll only encourage it. When you add AI into the mix, I'm thinking more lies will influence the AI search tool. Not good unless Governments stamp on it pdq.

They’ll never be an election that is free of disinformation and lying until the donors are properly vetted and opaque.
For me all political parties should be centrally funded depending on their election results and their members.

Disinformation is ruining this country and families. People are looking for someone/something to blame and it feeds them. The amount of conversations I’ve had with people to factually disprove there ascertains, it’s a losing battle. The govt need to get harsh and stop it.

Of course, all this is only possible with an Electorate that has been dumbed-down by being distracted with TV Soaps, Roman-Arena Style, Elimination TV Competition Shows and Staged Reality-TV.

Manifestos should be seen as a contract with the electorate. Failing to meet the contract, or completely ignoring it as Sunak did should result in an immediate general election.
Minor deviations could be accommodated by a public explanation.

True democracy relies on voters assimilating the news and making decisions. If the news is a lie than democracy suffers. During elections all parties should be able to get their point across on main media. Press shouldn’t be allowed to lie before and then retract after elections
