I have a thing where if I spend too much time without playing a game I MUST start from the beginning when I pick it up again. And at the same time, I will often start another thing and leave a game hanging for months
So there's lots of games that I will just play the first few hours on loop forever
I had a compulsion to do every room in resident evil 4 perfectly for rationing and only learned after beating the game that it intentionally gives you more ammo/healing drops when you’re low on them
I've played Resi 4 so many times that I've near perfectly memorized every map layout, item location, scripted event, enemy movement pattern, etc. I've spent god knows how many hours on that game.
My mental illness is playing the game in one sequence and in a reasonable amount of time, but not playing it for months after buying it even though I somewhat wanted to because the exact optimal conditions to play the game weren't there even though they were close and could leave after starting
I do this with every RPG. My brother will be done with some game and asks me how it's going with "I'm sure you've played the first third twenty times by now" and he's never wrong.

so it's just like 9 attempts with 10% or lower because i ditch the moment i get one wrong and then the last one is 100%
