The Indians have been working on them over the years to get reliability up, however the maintenance levels, whilst better are poor in comparison to other aircraft.
I saw reports of major engine overhauls every 400 hours, that's a lot of work.
Obsolete, a little, but threat isn't NATO.

Old news but now confirmed.

They were set to buy the French Rafale 15 years ago, were too demanding on the deal to manufacture them in India and decided to pay nearly a billion to have access to the Su-57's design.

As soon as they saw the Su-57 they ran back to France to buy Rafales from the shelf

I said it before - apart from being substandard there is no way russia could deliver when they can not even deliver to themselves, and India was burnt with the 5xS400's that took 3 years for the 1st, the 2nd and 3rd was 2022 and 2023 - the last 2 have been pushed to 2026 ! (if then)
