OK, I'm calling it. The thing where they take an old up-tempo song and do a slowed-down breathy version for the preview and/or the movie? It's done now. Enough. No more.

*breathy singing* “i want to be the one to walk in the sun…”

*character steps on broken glass* “oh girls just wanna have…”

I don’t know. Some of turned out really fantastic. I remember sitting through the Black Widow entrance and thinking “did someone steal the lyrics to smells like teen spirit?”. Paused the movie and found the song. It’s still in my rotation years later.
I'm just picturing a very low light, low to the ground -- dusk. You hear a little girl giggle in the background as it pans from left to right as you "swoop" down a hallway and swing around a corner.

Theresa whole Ted talk about that. About how trailers used to be ' In a world of.... One man did what no one else dared' sort of thing and now it's the metallic doom sound and kids choirs doing grunge or pared down acapella woman singing a pop song. It's a recipe. They are all the same.
This is how i feel about 90s alt songs being covered by breathy, usually femme singers, on every single true crime show. Esp when the killer is revealed.
