This is what the administration wants. They want federal employees to be hurting. Russell Vought said it himself. Unfortunately, we have a huge crisis of empathy in this country. This will only rally his base.
She can't talk, obviously, but I woke up to a text on Sunday morning from my yoga teacher -- who does internal comms at an federal agency -- saying she'd been unable to sleep because of The Email, and class was cancelled.
Um... not well. Our friends are jobless, our children are scared their friends and/or their families will be deported, many people are thinking (but won't speak aloud) about being within 20 miles of the highest profile targets of the next significant global conflict. It's kind of a lot right now.

The commute, uncertainty about employment, and the overall inability to do our job in a stable manner are just exhausting.
