scary: took the streetcar home last Friday night and there was a man eating pudding without a spoon, who then aggressively mimed a "crybaby" face at the person sitting across from him, who rolled his eyes.

Sure, there are unhoused and mentally ill people on the TTC. They’re part of our community. But I’d rather chat with an unhoused guy on the subway than deal with perpetually furious, rude and selfish drivers on the road. Traffic has gotten exponentially far worse than TTC in the last 30 years.

I seem to remember that a few years back a pedestrian got hit ON THE SIDEWALK and someone from the TPS said that pedestrians needed to be more mindful of their surroundings

While it might be statistically worse on the road than on public transit, people should take appropriate caution based on their situation.

Like there are reports of Oshawa cases of stabbings, trafficking etc on Go Train areas..

It's insane how society has just accepted that we're going to have these giant metal boxes flying around everywhere with virtually no oversight or meaningful regulations. It shouldn't be that dangerous just to exist outdoors!

I ride the LRT near daily and it isn't anywhere near as scary or dangerous as people make it out. Sometimes people talk to me or ask for directions, does that count as being "attacked"? Sometimes there are folks asleep or somebody making weird noises or something, hardly seems like an attack tho

My daughter is a student there and her experience on public transit outside commuting hours was nowhere near consistently positive, especially late. I’m guessing other women would confirm.
