How isn’t this discrimination on the basis of protected classes? Targeting “DEI” workers means targeting at least some in firmly established protected classes.
Yup definitely. They’d have to rewrite a whole lot of constitutional law and 14th amendment jurisprudence to change this. But they’ve gone that far before.
Some of the best people work in DEI and devote their time to helping people belong. I’m hoping for an easy and cheap path to a neighboring field, like Social Work, for folks who have worked for years in the DEI space.
Do these people understand that a RIF does not necessarily result in the occupant of the office being eliminated losing his/her job? It will likely result in the least senior employee being terminated. It’s very disruptive and an imprecise tool to say the least.
Wait - how do you know who is a “DEI hire” and who just happens to be a person of that group? Not sure he knows all the lawsuits that will follow if he tries this in the private sector.

Fact Check: Jobless numbers will begin to climb in 2 months.
It’s the people who operated the DEI programs in the dept. Basically firing a division of each depts’ HR office.
I could be wrong, though.
I’m still mad. Partly at myself for not reading past the headline.
And I’ve since learned that the word has gone out telling employees to basically turn in others who try to salvage any of the programs.
At the end of 4 years, if there is another election, we won’t recognize our federal govt.
