I wrote this in *2019*. At this point, I think that all parties have decided that the final, true Pokemon evolution of a British person is into a stereotypical Daily Express reader. They just won't be persuaded that renters or people under 45 or people in inner cities also have one vote each.

My snobbish feeling is that non-quant people can't be trusted with that stuff - same way they should never be left unsupervised with a chloropleth - for fear they'll anchor hard on the easy model and be unable to grasp how context dependent it is.
