Good talk at the game career seminar about working as a foreigner in Japan - I asked them to be honest about salaries in tokyo, and they did it! Including some cost of living comparison

that said wondering what the impetus is for picking san francisco, one of the most expensive places in the country, with an ultra-inflated cost of living to match as the US benchmark
Or maybe because whoever made the talk has experience moving to Japan, specifically from SF?
Not sure, I havent seen it
I havent paid out of pocket for a routine checkup in years
Actual care is still outrageously costly but at least i can get an annual for free
The prices stayed pretty much static for 20 years.
When I got back to the UK suddenly every cost had gone through the roof.
Japan now looks very cheap in comparison
Recently (a few weeks ago), being depressed just looking at real estate prices (for 1bedroom apartment) here in France, I looked up some Japan real estate prices...
On a foreigner friendly site (so probably not cheap)
A small house, new, 40 mins away, about ~100 000€
But like, the fact I could be buying up a HOUSE, in Japan, before I can ever dream of getting so lucky I can have a 25 year loan here to buy a 1bedroom
I just.... the mind boggles
Is that a normal price ?
There's an argument to be had there about the need for endless growth
