@agawande.bsky.social Thank you for sharing this partial list of the contracts that were terminated. Was it ever explained to you why they are shutting down so many humanitarian programs? I can see that *may* be some non-life threatening programs within the USAID could be shutdown, but 90% ??!?
This angers me beyond words!
I lost this beautiful soul, in 2022, do accidental fentanyl poisoning. She was 30 years old…and was a very bright light in this world.
My heart aches for her every damn day. 😢
Goddamit
Well well well. It isnt a surprise that they're hypocrites but this is one that we may be able to rub their racist voters faces in. If they care about drugs why did they eliminate actual prevention of drugs? (I know why. But maybe some of their voters can be shamed with this thought.)
Could you point to (or write?) an explainer on the state of play? I was outraged, then relieved by a court ruling, then worried it wasn’t complied with, then another court upheld firing of all staff, then contracts cancelled (so even if funding resumes, programs torched?) WTF is actually happening?
Did read What We Know in Better World Campaign piece but not understanding the court orders (Justice Roberts involved last night?) or the court upholding of staff dismissals or what the freaking advocacy target is to address this humanitarian disaster.
Isn't this their whole claim to fame with imposing tariffs? Why in the world would they get rid of this then??? 🤔 Oh wait...so they can dip their hands deeper in our pockets and make us suffer more by paying more because it's us, the people, who are going to feel it the most!
