Anybody have (cognitive) neuroscience journals they like for their work, outside of Neuron, Current Bio, JN, and JoCN? Is PLoS Bio pleasant? The new ex-NeuroImage thing, guessing that's mostly fMRI? Any Cortex-heads?

Have not had success at plos bio but experience (speed, feedback) has been pleasant. Communications biology and iScience are broad but I see a fair amount of cog neuro.
That's good to hear. That's been my experience with Current Bio, and also old eLife. Got rejected a few times with really good/fast feedback and then finally got in. iScience gives me PLoS One vibes a little bit, just so much stuff that's coming out there. But I'll take a look
I like the editors at Cereb Cortex although admin afterwards is a bit troublesome. Brain Struct Funct good for anatomy (but conflict of interest there). I like PLoS Biol although have found them to be slow in the past, but that was a while back. Old eLife was brilliant
Agreed, had some very good experiences with CC, though the charges are pretty high, the paywall is brutal, and the fact they keep things in press for so long to (presumably) game IF is annoying. BSF definitely consistently has some of the best neuroanatomy work
True, their prices are a bit old school, which is strange since they are not necessarily a commercial publisher, they should be able to do the same as MIT Press. At least they don’t yet have the JN thing of having an abstract and then a research significance statement. That annoys me ;-)
Oh yeah, I do cite a few studies that came out there regularly. I guess in that range I typically prefer JoCN, but I'll give it another thought next time
