I just saw a series of Truth Social posts, and apparently Trump is promising anything to anybody if only they'd vote for him. He's promising to reverse the "no kid-friendly vaping flavors" rule at the FDA. He'd promise to turn the moon into cheese if he thought Scalzi fans could swing the vote.

I would never because I can recognize that politicians often lie about campaign promises, particularly that one.

Now if @maryrobinette.bsky.social told me the moon was ALREADY cheese, I might believe her, if only for a moment.

It feels wrong to assume that Trump isn't lying when he says bad things while assuming he's lying when he says anything else, but since he has little incentive to tell lies that serve him worse than the truth, that's where I am.
If T's saying something that an evil genius wouldn't say, he's lying.

I mean why would anyone even try this with Trump? Cheese moon or whatever. Trump made so many promises before his first election and only kept the ones that harmed Americans and his followers. Still waiting on his "infrastructure week" and his "better than ACA" healthcare plan.
