(It's the second book in an extremely loose trilogy of novels by Tepper that begins with "Grass," which is in print (in ebook and audio in the US, in physical print in the UK), and which is equally terrific, so if you're curious about "Raising the Stones" you can get "Grass" to begin.)

The Great Orgasm Robbery
I read it a LOT.
The gender essentialism & eugenics is an issue but it’s helped by the fact that when you get to the end, you realise that the “damned few” seem to realize the trap they made for themselves.
(Also I loved the myths it references.)
But fair warning: some stuff does not. Which works bc it’s essentially a dystopian novel lurking under an idealistic surface. There’s attitudes towards gay men & lesbians aren’t mentioned although >
The only overt gay person might be Minsning (one of the servitors who is mentioned but not seen & the name sure feels sus).
Sadly I did not win the lottery tho & there are at least two other adaptations I’d make before that. (The Blue Castle & Murder Must Advertise.)
