Due to a glitch in the space-time continuum (called being a teenager in the eighties), I discovered the New York Dolls and Buster Poindexter nearly simultaneously. Despite being a fan of all things loud, fast and angry, it was Buster that stuck with me.

I was fortunate enough to see him preform many times. First was when he played at my college in ‘82, once with Hubert Sumlin in 2008 and twice with the reformed New York Dolls in 2006 and 2009. One of my all time favorites. Fantastic frontman singing great music. He will be missed.
