Ooh. So many! Depends on your taste, but I very enjoy Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy read by Douglas Adams, and Hannibal read by Thomas Harris, to name but two.

It's pretty gruesome (Hannibal Lecter, features characters from Silence of the Lambs, rather than famous Carthaginian general!) but gripping. Harris has a great voice.

Sometimes hearing the author narrate their book adds loads to them. I just listened to Julian Clary read his book Curtain Call to Murder and it was a joy. They definitely help with jobs like weeding, Joanna Cannon and Joanne Harris have helped me weed my entire garden 😀

I was just doing a bit of weeding in my herb garden and remembered a wonderful listen which as a gardener you might enjoy, Circe by Madeline Miller. It felt really magical listening to a story of an ancient herbalist while I tended to my own plants

The Poet is a story of understanding our parents and our parents understanding us. Both this book and Clap When You Land are novels in verse I loved listening to the audiobook and reading at the same time. Acevedo is an amazing writer and a talented performer.

Bloody Jack is narrated by Katherine Kellgren. It's book 1 of 12. To survive Early 19th century London, Mary Faber becomes Jacky Faber ship's boy on HMS Dolphin. Kellgren is a reader I search for when looking for an audiobook. We lost an amazing talent when she died in 2014.

We Are Not Free by Traci Chee follows the lives of 14 Japanese-American teenagers from the same neighborhood from 1942-1945 in interment camps, battle fields, and cities beyond the exclusion zones. The audiobook is performed by a full cast of narrators.

Clash of Steel by C. B. Lee is a great adventurous LGBTQ retelling of Treasure Island. Emily Woo Zeller performs the audiobook and gives the Chinese and Vietnamese pronunciations authenticity as far as my western ears can tell.

I'm a big theatre person so I enjoy a full cast of voice actors when listening to an audiobook. It reminds me of theatre. Even with one voice actor, if done well, can transport me. What kinds of books do you enjoy?

I usually read non-fiction books about gardening, regenerative practices and the occasional autobiography. I thought it might be time to hear something different. I've found that I don't really like podcasts, so thought a book might be better.
