Love this! I have done a lot of these things, but not all of them. Do you have a check list somewhere? Sadly most of my wildflowers died out due to too much tree shading in my first dedicated wildlife patch. Priority now is thinning and further hedge laying. I need more meadow to balance trees.

PS: I have lots of books on wildlife gardening, etc. But if there's a simple "to do list" or tick list of itemised suggestions I haven't yet seen it. There's no shortage of info on how to do things. Am currently "no dig", so unsure about rotavating. Love the earwig enclosure!

Hi Jamie, I haven’t got a check list but key aspects are to provide:

Pollen
Nectar
Shelter
Shade
Water
Nesting/Roosting
Host plants (eg grass for butterfly larva)
Structural diversity (eg short & tall grass patches)

I need more grassy areas outside of the garden and a wider variety of host plants. I planted lots but few are still around.

Really lovely. My garden is pocket-handkerchief-sized. I've turned much of the tiny lawn into a wildflower patch with birds-foot trefoil, yarrow, ox-eye daisies, and a dozen more. Even though it's miniscule, the increase of variety in visitors has been amazing. I'd love to have more space, though.

Absolutely wonderful video. Thank you do sharing it. And congrats on all you’ve achieved! 👏 Especially love the tips on hoverfly larvae and earwigs as natural pest removers from veg patches. Wish this was talked about more in gardening!
