Agreed. Trump, at heart, is a simple grifter. A hateful, sociopathic, narcissistic piece of shit. But a grifter. Vance is truly evil and more competent which makes him a bigger threat, imo.
He might be competently evil but he’s not effective imo
I find it hard to believe he actually helps the cases he argues for, because he so plainly ties himself in knots. More often making the cause itself plainly stupid
It’s to be seen but he’s making the ADF drop in polls post speech
Also, my default position is that the conservative “Christian” is always the worst option, but that may just be a result of growing up in the Bible Belt.
what trump says and does is hugely important, but people like musk, vance and a few other obvious names in that orbit are the ones with the actual ideology and making plays.
i have to wonder how people like bezos and zuckerberg are actually positioning in private, how they see their hands in this.
I’m guessing Trump is satisfied that he’s now not going to prison and he’ll be able to fleece this country as much as humanly possible without any repercussions. And golf. And he’ll let Musk and the others do all of the work.
"Later, Trump returned to this subject. 'If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.'"
I guess my takeaway from this is that text-to-speech's inexistence at the time was the only thing that prevented him from knowing the speechs' contents. Is that good or bad ?
Almost every GOP staffer and think tank person under a certain age (around Vance’s probably) is immersed in 4chan-esque groyperism. That’s the future of America’s rightwing. They all have the personality of Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign and enjoy the overtly fash imagery they did.

Christian nationalism is an enormous threat, I just don’t think JD is gonna be the vehicle
JDs rhetoric so bad it was believable he wrote a book on fucking couches
That being said, idk what to fear specifically, but I do fear integralism to put a word to it
