The flavor absolutely soaks into the noodles.
Works great for rice too.
Chemical comment: the jarred sauce *has to be* acidic because otherwise, maybe botulism! and *nobody wants botulism*. A pinch of sugar in the seasoning makes all the difference in the world - especially if you're feeding smaller kids, who are very sensitive to sharp flavours.
I grew up w ground beef spaghetti but my Chicagoland partner showed me the wholly different experience of using pork.
