Come to think of it, there were a bunch of indie comics films in the 1990s of varying degrees of quality - The Crow, The Rocketeer, Tank Girl, Barb Wire, The Mask, Timecop

The problem is that it's really a parody of 90s indie comics.

And that's fine, but who looks at that and thinks: this needs real actors and a ton of money?
