There’s been a lot of talk in the news recently relating to general handwriting skills and the link between long term memory- great opinion pieces challenging our current educational landscape #EduSkyAU
Interestingly, I have tried lots of programs and ideas to help me be organised and the only thing that really works is writing my To Do list and weekly schedule out by hand on the weekend. Something about the act of handwriting really works for me... #EduSkyAU
I try to store as much as I can in my brain- when the stress gets too much I scribble to-do lists!
I always have a notepad next to me, to take notes as I listen/read/talk. #EduSkyAU
Yup I was using Microsoft “to do” planner for teams and enjoying the dopamine fix when I could tick it off- but it was something else that jammed my tab list- I now write/rewrite lists each day. Actually helps me break from the screen #EduSkyAU
A2. AI in education must amplify the human experience, not diminish it. At LCI Melbourne, we focus on empowering students to use AI as a partner in creativity while fostering critical thinking and ethical decision-making to navigate the future responsibly. #EduSkyAU
A2: I see AI as a powerful tool to enhance learning, not replace thinking. Used well, it can boost creativity, personalise learning, and reduce admin, giving teachers more time to teach. But we need to balance innovation with ethics, ensuring students develop critical and original thought. #eduskyau
Trouble is, it's not like other tools - most tools haven't talked back, or offered to do parts of a task (or the whole thing). It's been an incredible leap for many educators to go from spellcheck to an entire document being generated. An incredible opportunity too though! #EduSkyAU
I do love how when I’m racing to complete emails I have a critical friend fixing things. I like to double check and learn from mistakes.. I’m using lot more commas with my clauses now 😂 #EduSkyAU
It’s here, it’s not going away so let’s get on the train! At times we maybe running alongside trying to keep up but at least we’re trying. Take a critical lens and look at how we use it and teach students to utilise it responsibly #EduSkyAU

Not drivers of learning but leading the way to generate reams of meaningless data.

Maybe #AI could lead to better designed assessment.
