My latest piece at @thenation.com takes issue with the conventional wisdom that the Dems don't know how to fight Musk's GOP brownshirts effectively. They know how. We know this because they've been waging that kind of ruthless fight against the left for 25 years. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/democratic-party-fecklessness/

Yup.
When do they show us their boots on the ground?
I think plenty of them would like to take a more adversarial approach toward Trump, but...
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
The battle outside ragin'
So spare me this nonsense. The leftists were and continue to be nasty.
& pres elections are not national votes, really—because of the electoral college, they only need to mess with a handful of counties in a handful of states.
Thus, Dems leaders talking only about a change after the election infuriates me.
Lmao
Thirty-six percent of U.S. eligible voters did not vote in the 2024 general election.

The harder it is to vote, the fewer people of color participate in elections.

eg. there should be "hearings" scheduled w fired vets in 10 states next week.
Instead they've scheduled once-a-day X tweets.
The Dems would fight harder than we can imagine to prevent that party from having access to the polls though.
What would your message be to Workers Strike Back, the Revolutionary Communists of America, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and others working to do just that?
They see left of center 'social democrat' types as a bigger existential threat to their power than outright fascism.
The Squad is destroyed and no one wanted what they were selling.
Why don't you stick to sports?
"70% (of Jews) think anti-Zionist movements are antisemitic by definition... 76% believe that the 2024 anti-Israel campus protests were antisemitic."
No LEGIT Jewish organizations back what you are selling. None.
How about this, from an actual pollster, that showed that in 2020 only 58% of US Jews felt any attachment to Israel. And that age skew tells a clear story: Zionism is losing in the diaspora, for very good reasons.
"Eight-in-ten U.S. Jews say caring about Israel is an essential or important part of what being Jewish means to them."
"If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill. May my tongue cling to my palate, if I do not remember you..." - Psalm 137, ~597 BCE
Maybe if they stopped invading Palestine and made peace they'd win back some goodwill, but it's pretty late for that, and unfortunately pretty unlikely too.
