That’s how data is. It can easily be skewed & misrepresented. There are things to consider like the data sample (20k and 200k would make a difference), Location (how many of them are from south or west or east), affiliations (like is it 70%-80% republicans answering the poll?) etc.

Statistics require a representative group that reflects the cross-section of the population. This group can be very small. 200k is far too many. PEW surveyed 9600 people. In terms of statistics, that's enough.

I believe Pew Research has unbiased practices so I’m sure they’ve done everything as perfect as possible. It’s just these long existing nuances in research and surveys such as context-specific factors and self-selection biases that makes the data not completely (100%) reliable.

Totally but also how we talk to each other. Whenever I disagree with one of the MANY progressive litmus tests I’ve always been mercilessly slammed with all kinds of assumptions based on appearances. There’s a lot of self-righteousness and tone policing that may be understandable but alienates folks.
