Just to make this point to my followers: Trump can’t just make a department out of thin air. The Constitution clearly states that departments must be created by law, I.e., by Congress. The necessary and proper clause supplements Congress’s power here.

This “department” would be unconstitutional.

My plea to reporters is to not call it the Department of Government Efficiency. It is not a Department. It is almost certainly going to a Federal Advisory Committee, and it is very important that reporters accurately convey that Vivek and Elon are working on an advisory committee.
