My mom and I were sideswiped by one of those (in a 96 Honda Civic) cuz the driver was on his phone. If my mom hadn’t hit the gas instead of the break, I’d have been smashed. It took me ages to not freak out if a giant-ass truck was next to me in traffic.

Given that 2.8% of kids in the U.S. are now diagnosed with autism, one would reasonably unfortunately expect that 1000 or so would be involved in the 36,000 U.S. car accidents per day - in the same way that thousands of immigrants are also involved in car accidents because of random bad luck!
