The fastest way to shut up YIMBYs is to abolish growth controls near jobs & transit, allow middle housing everywhere by right, & adopt Euro 1-stair building codes

When that fails then you can show us what's *really* causing rents above construction costs 😁

This is actually going to be pretty fun to watch here in Portland, where we’ve legalized middle housing essentially everywhere, have zero minimum parking within 1/2 mile of transit (essentially everywhere). So far we’re still getting squat buildings with lots of parking and almost no middle housing.

lots of dumb regulations exist! Do aggressive owner occupier mandates for duplex construction or aggressive parking minimums near transit improve worker safety or tenant protection? Of course not! They weren’t designed to!
