Most likely, after 2020 and with inflation, homes were the cheapest in areas like Idaho, compared to more dense populated areas. That brought people, which in turn brought jobs.

So ID had a huge influx of conservative (rich!) white people move there, which caused a housing crisis, which caused the locals to go INSANE because they need to calibrate their sanity against the newcomers, and the newcomers are again, v conservative.

As industry, mainly same as Montana, not a whole lot of modern anything but majority of newcomers are retired/retiring. The pandemic had a lot to do with it. The local population hates the new people because they’re rich and expect things a certain way, like your cashier having all of her teeth.

I know for a fact MT has seen huge population growth over this period, so their 8% jobs growth makes sense, but I'm curious just how much of an overlap there is.
