Wonder if there's any subject matter expertise out there who can discuss how from the 90s on former vital functions in the military, particularly technological maintenance, were outsourced to contractors. DOGE has been resonating with that a lot to me.

Pair that with how when you walk into a lot of fed offices, including law enforcement and intelligence, a lot of the people performing vital to mission functions already are contractors. Last fed office I was in admin was 30-40% gov FTE, the other 60-70 were contractors. Tho this is more careless.

I was hired by USDS in Sept. ‘24 and was waiting on my background check to start work. Not working at USDS is the biggest disappointment of my career, though it resulted in me not being fired.

Trashing 18F and USDS is awful. The only beneficiaries are contractors who overcharge the government.
