Been thinking about different approaches to behaviour change recently and trying to dig into my own biases and preferences.
I think I generally lean more towards influence via system change. I like to trying to create an environment where people can learn and make choices themselves.

And I disliked the feeling of being treated like a child.
With direct interaction, what if you reframe it from advice/instruct, to being curious and asking questions that make them think more deeply. Would that change your perspective on direct interaction?
As you demonstrate, there are ways to do it without patronising people.
The when and the how are both important.
