I mean how you refuse entry to someone on a tourist visa if you think they’re planning to work is you put them on the first plane back where they came from. Maybe one or two nights in detention at most if there aren’t that many flights? 🤷‍♀️

This is a land crossing, so they can't do that as easily as at an airport where you can manage it all airside. (I'd guess that they don't like turning people back at a land border because they're inevitably porous?) None of which justifies what sounds like several egregious failures.

I made no effort to go in the orange one's first term, couldn't during Biden's, & now can't imagine going until the orange one and anyone remotely connected is far away from power, & then add a few years for attitudes of others in civilian power having these sorts of attitudes to calm down again.
