Yes, although I thought it was because of recent pubs/preprints. But for some reason most of mine think I want to submit my fungal ecology work to medical research journals..? Rare that I receive one actually in my field.

I've been publishing for more than 30 years. My mail addresses are everywhere to be found. You need a really good spam filter.

It’s driving me crazy! They also start using actual names as senders so you end up always double checking when you see the email come in!

I'd say I still average about 5 per day. I've not noticed an upturn. I guess you've been added to more databases. You have my sympathies. Hope all's well.

Yeah, I've no idea if they even take place. But I imagine that at some stage in the process you're presented with a bill. We had a grad student who mistakenly sent a paper to a predatory journal. He quickly realised & tried to withdraw & they pursued him with 'legal' demands for payment.

I've noticed that as soon as I publish an article open-access, the flood of predatory spam emails immediately worsens.
