This is not a very accurate view of the attitudes of 18-30 year olds towards the opportunity to come to study, live or work in the UK. There would be some interest in a reciprocal mobility scheme, depending on its scope/shape, both ways.

My feeling is that young people in the EU are very keen in principle. But intergenerational disadvantage hasn't been as significant in most EU countries as the UK. So things like university fees (even at home rates were that possible) and rent levels are a bit of a shock for many.
Even with the right in england pushing hard to leave the ECHR and rampant anti anything that's not english ? I find that hard to believe.
Scotland is an oasis of calm and friendship in these islands so that's a bonus. I'd stay well clear of england.
I don't doubt you're correct there.
I do wonder if the difference between EU FoM & anything which might come out of these discussions would make it less attractive once understood?
eg right to work, that finding a life partner in UK does not allow you to live together in each other's countries.
