Microsoft Office is the worst office suite ever made. Literally anything else is better. Libreoffice is 1000x better in every way. And it doesn't make the system unstable and slower just by having it installed.

The only problem is that Libreoffice is not the standard. And often if you open documents that ARE the standard, something gets broken in them. That's why I recommend OnlyOffice. Same benefits without those downsides.

.odf .ods and .odt are the standards. Microsoft does not define the standards. "Everyone uses them" does not make them a standard.
