It's great but for me it loses a bit of momentum towards the end.
I don't think there's ever really a "best ever", but a "best for the moment". This one is the best for the current moment for me.

Didn't you like New Adventures?
It's definitely patchy but has some stand-out tracks on it like E-Bow, So Fast, So Numb, Electrolite.

I bought it the day it came out, but I never got into it. It was weird. I couldn't connect whatsoever with it. Never have. I'm not sure I was able to connect with any of the follow ups either.

It was definitely a shift from the albums immediately prior and I agree, the ones after felt way off for me.
I think I had Up and Reveal on CD but they've long since disappeared somewhere. Whichever one of those is "newest" was my last R.E.M. album.
