I wasn’t referring to the headline but it’s more about going back on agreeing to what would have been first-class purpose built ferries that would’ve lasted longer than what we are getting now, & getting them cheaply too. I know he was trying to take a swipe but he didn’t land it

It's SH1 and the main trunk line. Future-proofing the link, with bigger ferries (waves aren't getting smaller) and the infrastructure, with earthquake strengthening
The rail system can't function efficiently without a link for freight, rolling stock and locos

Now what “may” happen is smaller ships, modified “rail enabled”, rebuilt Picton wharf infrastructure, little change in Wellington but will deferred to another govt

Exactly, and it costs us in the long run every time. It's usually short-sighted, selfish thinking from the Right, very disappointing to see Hipkins buying into it. He's probably angling to blame Peters for the original decision, but frankly that statement just makes Hipkins look weak.
