An international program aims to leverage blind examiners’ sense of touch, which may be more acute than sighted people’s, to feel for breast abnormalities and, hopefully, catch cancer at an early stage.

In America it would just set off a new wave of conservative hysteria claiming all those people pretending to be blind so they can examine women's breasts
And then blame the woman for getting cancer in the first place. If she hadn’t gotten cancer - all of this work could have been avoided! (Sarcasm also, but also unfortunately true.)
Could we possibly Send for one to come to the States. We coild pay her way. My wife is due for a Mamogram next week and doesn't relish the idea. Having one of these Indian women do it her way might be better. I'd gladly do thid for my wife if it in fact worked.
Using heightened senses to save lives, now that’s real superhero work. Early detection is everything, and if touch can catch what sight might miss, this could be a game-changer. Hope this program gets the support it deserves!
How wonderful. Take a disability and turn it into a gift.
And I instinctively know that is going to be true. If your brain isn't trying to process visuals then there's so much more capacity for your other senses.

It’s a myth that other senses actually change or improve. It’s a matter of focus.
To soon?
Me: *squints* Hmm...
