I think we might be onto something here...
/I'm a 45 year old man.
Both of these are just Level 2 charging, which is what most people need for workday/overnight charging anyway.
But seeing poles with chargers built in, is an incredible way to integrate charging infrastructure, within existing objects
(incl. powerlines, so yeah, they should have thought of chargers while they were down there, dammit!!)
This exists and has been tested and is available. It also means you don't need to span a walkway/bike path like some pole mounted options do.
Now (Tesla) robotaxis, that's vaporware.

Why would you be chipping away at anything, if it's constantly generating warmth...
Or ... hear me out here ...
don't built electrical outlets into the ground.
There are pros and cons to all options.
Think about it. This is why we are decades behind China and Europe with technological innovation.
Luckily my neighbor was home when I called him.
Mine was connected to a GFCI outlet.
So what happened? The conductivity of the water from hot to Neutral did not exceed the 20 Amp breaker's current. π
I was a design tech & tech support for an electronics company. Often people asked "Why did the connection/circuit board burn instead of tripping the breaker???"
Well, the corroded connector resistance caused enough current flow to burn, but not enough to trip the breaker. βΉοΈ
Now if it was on an "Arc fault" receptacle then yes it would have tripped.
Willful ignorance is shameful.
This will not work well in cold climates.
You're operating on willful ignorance. Which is a sign your IQ is very low.
Dogs relieving themselves.
etc.
Bzzt.
Regarding maintenance, minimal flooding, and access for disabled and elderly people
This is what happens when designs are created and reviewed in a vacuum of homogeneous designers
Put it on a pole
No one wants to touch what is potentially covered in urine or numerous other contaminants, especially in a society obsessed with worthless hand sanitizers at the door of a supermarket
That will fill with rain water, then what?
How brave are you feeling that day?
I'm sure there is a creative solution

What is great to see are that changes in energy distribution are making it out into the real world
A decade from now, this type of energy access should be ubiquitous
