See but it’s not like, intended as anything to straight people at all. It’s about inter-lgbt struggles and how we need to reject division and the harmful “queer discourse” about stuff like if pansexuality or bisexuality is problematic, or any idea that the lgb can exist without the t.
No I understand the meaning, together we're big, separated we're small, it's just that without the drawing, or understanding of the drawing, it reads like a threat
I'm so glad you like it, and that it's resonated with so many folks! I'm not on Mastodon, but feel free to put it there as long as you post my Bluesky @!
I've always wanted to see this done with queer flags! super cool piece :3 the other thing I always thought would look cool with queer flags is post WWII Marshall plan posters:
Happy that this is still resonating with so many folks! Putting here an updated version: a few aesthetic changes, plus using the orange-pink lesbian flag and including the NB flag; I understand queer is an umbrella term, but I feel including NB people is very important and that’s where it fit best.
Art done for Pride Month; wanted to put it up here as well. Anyone who wants to split the queer community and pit queer identities against each other, or reject anyone for the sake of 'respectability', is an enemy to us all.
Unsure if this is intentionally a reply to me or not but just to be clear, the design is based on an American Revolutionary War political cartoon by Benjamin Franklin, including the division of the snake.
It fits our community well—we’re healthy and whole together, which is exactly why some are trying to split us apart. And that’s a great rendition of it too!
I love this so much! Though I’m surprised you went with the pink lesbian flag instead of the orange and pink one. May I ask if there was any reason for that design choice?
ha ha oh boy until right this very moment upon googling it, I didn't realize there was a meaningful difference between the two, and simply went with the lesbian flag design that was first in a search for references since I recognized it. I absolutely would have done the orange and pink, had I known.
Y'know I did actually have someone accuse me of "trying to start a war over sexualities" and that "this is why normal people think you're being hostile", and frankly if that's how someone interprets this then good, I am hostile to them specifically.

Are you on Mastodon as well? I'd love for people there to see this
Updated version, utilizing the orange-pink lesbian flag!
But like I said, this is GORGEOUS.
