It is amazing how this longtime trend is underplayed or ignored. IIRC, since the all time highs of the 90s, murders have fallen by nearly *two thirds*. That is goddamned incredible. If it could be attributed to one policy it would be heralded as one of the greatest political achievements ever.

This assessment is based on data from multiple sources. The primary source is the Real-Time Crime Index (https://realtimecrimeindex.com) which was updated today to include data from 309 cities with reporting through October.
