It's so good! Also worth checking out Hoopla which lets you borrow Comic Books / Tv Shows / Movies and more... I can't speak for other areas, but Austin Public Libraries have arrangements with both Libby and Hoopla.

Libby is just amazing. As is the number of people who don’t seem to know it exists! I try to spread the word. Also terrific for magazines. It’s saved me a lot on stuff I used to subscribe to.

I read about 20 library ebooks a year on Libby, and I love the ease of using it.
I had a surprise though: after a search for a particular topic in Libby, I logged into Amazon, that exact search term showed up in the "suggested for you" on the Amazon page.

Some research in the fine print shows that, when you use Libby, you agree to have information sent to Amazon, and the only way to opt out of this is to delete Libby.

That's only if you connect your Amazon account to send books to Kindle, right? How would Libby even know what Amazon account you have to tell Amazon your specific account searched for something? I'd love to have a link to that fine print if you've got it!

Sorry to be a pill, but could I ask again for a link? The terms and conditions don’t mention Amazon at all (source https://www.overdrive.com/policies-portal/terms-and-conditions) so I’m curious what you’re seeing.

Also curious since I don’t even see how to add an email to Libby, I just signed in with my library card number 😅

I read through the details again and am pleased to not see this. It was just after Libby replaced the Overdrive app, and the terms seem to have changed.
The local librarian remembers a few inquiries about this, but doesn't find it either.

Note however that ebooks through your library on these services are often much more expensive than them purchasing the physical book.

It’s better fiscal sense for your library system for you to go get the book from them.

I love Libby! I also really appreciate that Kobo allows you to cut Amazon completely out of the borrowing process. I will never return to the kindle after switching to Kobo.
