Apple pulls data protection tool from UK. Well done UK. Another giant leap backwards for privacy and common sense. We seem determined to become a first world country. Christmas present complete. Fun build. Loved the 3D-ishness and the way the designers created the different layers. #Lego

I think this is my favourite sim screenshot I’ve ever taken in several decades of flight simming. It feels very natural and quite beautiful to me. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 flying over Scotland.

So after telling us all that climate change really is a thing (and that appears to be beyond doubt now), current global opinion seems to be (at a government level) “We must do something about it for future generations, unless it’s going to be inconvenient or cost us money”. Is that a fair summary?

UK government: “How Labour will make Britain a clean energy superpower”. UK government: “Let’s build another runway at our busiest airport so we can get more planes coming and going”. Hmm. They must be referring to those new-fangled green planes.

This is hilarious - and pretty much sums up my feelings about AI at the moment.

I was going to take Bas out for a walk (well, a carry these days), but I couldn’t disturb this… Snuggled up with a hot water bottle and Pocus.

Tonight’s offering from my 4 year quest of watching Laurel and Hardy films - www.imdb.com/title/tt0…

I think I’ll just spend the next 4 years rewatching Laurel and Hardy films to cheer me up and hope we all come out the other side okay.

This trailer is better than most entire films. And even better in a cinema with a thumping sound system. Listen with headphones, loudly. youtu.be/mcvLKldPM…

Bas and Pocus - snuggle buddies 😌

Unretouched M42 from Seestar S50 tonight.

Trying out the AI Denoise on the Seestar - pretty good! Not sure about the blemish above M1 - possibly something on the lens. Will check when I bring the scope in.

Dear me - www.threads.net/@zuck/pos… I was hoping (probably beyond hope) that 2025 might be a better year (yes, despite Trump), but it’s not a good start. From the comments, it appears I’m not the only one despairing.

Sorry for another of these, but I just don’t get it. This is a beautiful spot that you need to take an effort to get to, so I assume the folk that come here do so because they want to. Yet a proportion of those folk also think it’s acceptable to literally dump their shit here. Why? Take it home FFS.

First Lego build for a while. Really enjoyed making this and love “playing” with it. Going to add a Bluetooth motor.

Nature sure is beautiful.

Beautiful morning for flying #flightsim

Pocus says to say goodnight to Bluesky…

What’s with charging a Booking Fee on cinema tickets? What’s the fee for? I can see nothing that justifies a fee. It’d be better if they just added the cost to the price of a ticket. At least I wouldn’t feel ripped off every time I booked. #cinema

A lovely walk with my friends before the snow came.

I do love this time of year

After several years, 704 flights, 106,695 miles, countless aircraft, I've finally made it back to LFBP (in MSFS!) at the completion of The Big Tour. Thanks to everyone who joined in along the way - it's been a blast! #flightsim

My SO can be a little reluctant to share her work on social sites, so I’ll be posting some here as I think they deserve to be seen. This is one is titled Mountain Storm. You can find more of her work at KarenAveyArt.com #art

One of my favourite targets from a dark sky site not too far from me. #astronomy

Right, that's me done with the cats and dogs posts for today. I'll try and come up with something different for tomorrow 😄

And here's Hocus using Basil as a pillow. He doesn't seem to mind, though - keeps him warm.

Seems to be a lot of cat lovers here, so here's our Pocus chilling after a long day catting. (Yes, we have a Hocus, too. And a Spooky!).

Hi all. Micro.blog and Mastodon user popping over to have a look out of curiosity. I hope you are all well.
