If Ricketts doesn't want to spend huge money on one player like Soto, Ohtani, etc., that's fine. But I don't have much confidence in him or Hoyer to go after quality free agents and paying them what they're worth.

Right there with you. I’ve had enough of the hoping we’re good enough to squeak into the playoffs way of constructing a team. I get what they’re trying to do with the young players and such, but you can’t bank on them being able to carry a team and constantly hope for career years from vets.
