Like others I'm not convinced about Bashir. Is he really the best on offer? However, it's good to get new blood in the team. A rare positive over Oz who seem to be playing a Dad's army these days with only one member of the squad under 30

Bethell will be what Brook is now. I can see them at 4 & 5 when Joe finally bows out, but where do you play him once Smith comes back? Drop Creepy & have him open, which is pretty much what he did in NZ after the walking wicket exited stage left early doors at the hands of Henry every innings?

I don't know about Bashir.
Is his bowling going to be so far superior to his inability to run field and bat that he becomes viable?
Plenty of spinners have had ability good balls but you also need consistency.
I think this is a needless experiment that is dangerous to his overall development.
